Welcome to the SGMP Michigan Chapter! The Society of Government Meeting Professionals is a non-profit professional organization of persons involved in planning government meetings, and those individuals who supply services to government planners. It is the only national organization in the United States dedicated exclusively to the government meeting market. The organization's objectives are to enhance the quality and promote the cost effectiveness of government meetings by improving the knowledge and expertise of individuals through education, training, and development of industry relationships. The Society of Government meeting professionals was established in October 1981 in Washington, DC. Today, the Society delivers its membership value of education, resources, and networking to nearly 2,000 members in 19 chapters across the country. SGMP is managed by an Executive Director and governed by a national board of directors and officers elected by the membership. Chartered January 24, 1990 Chapter Board of DirectorsUnless otherwise noted on calendar, board meetings occur either before or after the monthly meeting and are at the same location as the monthly meeting. All board members are required to attend the meetings. If any other member wishes to attend or needs to address the board, please contact the chapter president.
We recognize and honor the Chapter's past leadership for the contributions they have made to the success and growth of the chapter.
